Troll Trials is a 2D trap platformer built across 100 levels, each one designed by a very smug troll who hangs at the top of the screen and watches you stumble. Every level looks straightforward — and none of them are. Floors give way, spikes lunge up a step ahead of you, ceilings drop, walls materialize mid-jump, platforms change their mind the moment you land, and the exit door bolts just as you reach it. Die and the troll laughs. Clear a level and he sulks. Clear all 100 and you finally wipe the grin off his face.
One scene shows a dark purple background with grey clouds, small white dots, and silhouetted tree shapes. Another moment places two red cones and a small green door-shaped portal with a blue glow on a flat brown ground surface. An orange character with yellow spikes and a round green creature with white fangs appear in one view of the action.
The game runs in portrait or landscape, supports keyboard and touch controls, and is fully translated into English, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, and Turkish. Progress saves to your account automatically, and a two-step tutorial on level 1 walks through the controls one prompt at a time.
The goal on every level is to reach the glowing door at the end. Everything between you and it is lying. Floors collapse, ground turns out to be fake, spikes pop up, blocks and ceilings appear while you are in the air, and the door itself may run. Watch the troll at the top of the screen — he reacts a moment before a trap springs.
Die as often as needed: respawning takes under a second, and deaths only affect your star rating. Three stars means no deaths, two stars allows up to three, and one star means the level was cleared regardless. After 10 deaths on a single level, a skip is offered.
The 100 levels are arranged across 10 worlds, each with its own look, ground, and music:
Ten distinct dirty tricks are spread across the levels:
Beyond the standard run, levels come in several structural forms:
Stars are awarded for every level, best-death records are tracked, and level select is available throughout. Autosave ties all progress to your account.
If the trap-heavy obstacle design of Troll Trials appeals to you, Geometry Arrow puts you through a cave full of unique obstacles and spikes across six increasingly difficult levels. For a longer skill-platformer challenge, Vector Parkour Run delivers 33 story levels of timed jumps, rolls, and vaults across rooftops and construction sites where one late press ends the run.
