Duohex is a pixel-art spellbook auto-battler where buying, merging, and arranging spells on a two-page grimoire determines the outcome of fully automatic duels. The core tension lives in spell placement: adjacent spells on the same page link together and empower one another, so the layout of a grimoire matters as much as the spells chosen. Solo runs pit a single mage against AI opponents, while the Duo mode pairs the player with an AI partner who shops and fights alongside them. Both paths lead through eight-entry tournaments.
The goal is to collect 10 trophies before exhausting all lives. Each run moves between a shop phase and automatic duels.
Spells placed next to each other on the same grimoire page link together, empowering one another before the duel begins. Arrangement across the two pages is therefore a meaningful strategic decision.
Once the shop phase ends, duels play out automatically. In Duo mode, the AI partner handles its own shopping and fighting independently alongside the player.
If the spell-placement and auto-battle loop of Duohex appeals to you, Deck Beasts offers a similar pixel-art auto-battler feel with draft-based beast squads, equippable abilities, and relic collection across a roguelike run. For a deeper build-crafting experience that also lets combat resolve on its own, Spellshot delivers a pixel idle RPG with a vast talent tree, gear affixes, and more than forty skill gems to shape a hero who fights without direct input.
