Classic strategy. Two players. 8×8 battlefield. Chess is the ultimate test of tactics, patience, and foresight. Command 16 pieces. Trap the enemy king. No luck. Pure skill.
Your mission? Checkmate the opponent's king. Trap it. No escape routes. No legal moves. Game over. Each player controls an army: pawns, rooks, knights, bishops, queen, king. Take turns. Move one piece. Think ahead. Plan the next five moves while your opponent sweats.
8×8 grid. Ranks labeled 1-8. Files labeled a-h. Each side starts with 16 pieces arranged in two rows. Pawns shield the back row where the heavy hitters wait. Click your piece. Legal moves highlight. Click the target square. Done. Mouse controls everything. No keyboard needed.
Every piece moves differently. Pawns crawl forward, capture diagonally. Rooks slide straight—horizontal or vertical. Knights jump in L-shapes, leap over blockers. Bishops cut diagonals. Queen combines rook and bishop. Unstoppable. King shuffles one square at a time. Protect it at all costs. Wait for the highlight. Click. Confirm. Repeat.
Control the center. Develop knights and bishops early. Don't move the same piece twice in the opening. Castle your king for safety. Use pawns to control space, but don't push them recklessly—they can't retreat. Look for forks (attack two pieces with one). Set up pins (trap a valuable piece behind the king). Study the board. Every turn is a puzzle. Solve it faster than your opponent.
