A direct AdSense account is yours alone, self-managed. MCM (Multiple Customer Management) is a Google Ad Manager structure where a parent manages a child’s inventory or account under one of two modes: Manage Inventory or Manage Account.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A direct AdSense account is one you apply for and run yourself: you own the account, apply the ad code or Ad Placement API calls, and Google pays you directly. MCM (Multiple Customer Management) is a Google Ad Manager structure where a partner (the parent) manages inventory or an account on behalf of a publisher (the child). There are two modes, and they work very differently.<\/p>\n

In Manage Inventory<\/strong>, the child delegates inventory to the parent. Both sides have Ad Manager networks, but no trafficking happens in the child’s network – sites are tagged with the parent’s Ad Manager tags, Google pays the parent, and the parent pays the child. In Manage Account<\/strong>, the parent gets access to the child’s own Ad Manager account; the child keeps its permissions and settings, Google pays the child directly, and the child can set the parent’s revenue share (0-100%) to be sent automatically. The child completes identity verification in this mode.<\/p>\n

What does ads.txt need for MCM?<\/h2>\n

You add the ads.txt lines your MCM partner gives you to every site included in the program. Google does not publish fixed traffic thresholds for joining MCM; eligibility is handled by Google and the partner.<\/p>\n
