Making a game a success goes beyond the monetization and ad placements<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

ChennaiGames is a passionate team of game developers committed to crafting immersive and entertaining games for players worldwide. Playgama is a game tech platform designed to give HTML5 developers access to the whole web market at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two teams joined forces to improve and distribute \u201cMR RACER\u201d, a nitrous racing game. Pavel Polovinka, the Head of B2B at Playgama, shares the insights he gained from working on its promotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is \u201cMR RACER\u201d and Why You Should Care<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

ChennaiGames<\/a> took a shot for the Moon with \u201cMR RACER\u201d. Combining various game modes, 15 customizable cars, adaptive controls, changing weather conditions, advanced graphics and rolling it into a compact build that takes only 30 MB is a small wonder \u2014 a wonder made possible by ChennaiGames\u2019 skill and ingenuity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of the time of writing, these are the results the game has shown, by platform:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facebook Games. <\/strong>\u201cMR RACER\u201d earned a feature in the Play Tab<\/a> \u2014 a distribution tier for higher-quality and better-performing games within the platform. Typically, the chances of this are around 3%, and this achievement is in no least because \u201cMR RACER\u201d is just an all-around great game. We didn\u2019t even have to buy traffic \u2014 the fan base grew organically. Still, it\u2019s on our roadmap. Through paid promo, we expect to broaden the market coverage and help the game make it to the \u201cFeatured\u201d section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MSN Games.<\/strong> The game is featured on the portal\u2019s main page and continues to drive high engagement from players around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YouTube Playables.<\/strong> \u201cMR RACER\u201d is available to billions of users<\/a> on the 2nd most popular website on the planet, and has gathered more than 2 million plays in just a month since the launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there is more than pedigree and revenue to be considered. Both Playgama and ChennaiGames gained important lessons from working on \u201cMR RACER\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lesson 1: Good Things Come to Those Who Wait\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

By the time ChennaiGames published \u201cMR RACER\u201d on our platform in 2024, it was already available on other websites. Four months after publication, we noticed the game gaining noticeable traction on the Playgama platform. At that point, our offering ChennaiGames help with distribution via MSN and Facebook, was a question of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In gamedev, perseverance and dedication go a long way. Gathering momentum takes time, and kudos to ChennaiGames for sticking to their guns.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lesson 2: Iteration Is The Mother of Success\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Publishing on MSN and Facebook wasn\u2019t a cakewalk (it rarely is). Devs of ChennaiGames complied with multiple requests from the platforms. For example, they rearranged social sharing buttons and implemented \u201cAdd to Favourites\u201d functionality (now sunset) for the Facebook version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adapting \u201cMR RACER\u201d to YouTube Playables was no small feat, either. This project is one of the first three in this niche for us at Playgama. Plus, there aren\u2019t that many racing games in this category to begin with. ChennaiGames didn\u2019t have many reference points to go with while adapting the racing game for the portrait mode. Nonetheless, they did it in just a few days!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Constant improvements and an iterative approach solve two tasks at once. First, they open doors to new platforms. Second, they let developers keep the players\u2019 interest high.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lesson 3: Trust Is a Two-Way Street<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At Playgama, we work with different types of game studios. Some developers quit halfway, overestimating the time and effort needed to adjust to the platforms. With ChennaiGames, we chose to believe that they will do what it takes to feature the game on a platform or optimize its monetization model. Thankfully, the studio delivered on that trust. ChennaiGames takes their work very seriously, while staying flexible, responsive, and attentive to our advice. For every requirement and suggestion received, they shipped a new build.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
